Chenavari Investment Managers* ('Chenavari' or 'the Firm') was founded in 2008 by Loic Fery, who was previously Global Head of Credit Markets at Credit Agricole Investment Bank managing a team of more than 230 professionals. The Firm manages $5.2 billion of largely institutional assets as of 01 March, 2015. Chenavari's team comprises of 100 professionals, including 44 investment team specialists, based predominantly in London, along with subsidiary offices in Luxembourg and Hong Kong.
The Firm focuses on credit with a heavy bias to Europe, and aims to profit from the different stages of banks' deleveraging and financial dislocation in Europe. The investment focus is on absolute return, idiosyncratic opportunities with low market correlation, low market beta and a high margin of safety. The investment team is organised into specialist, deeply experienced, sub-strategy teams of Portfolio Managers and analysts, all teams being fully integrated with fundamental research capability at core. Chenavari's investment team has an average of 17 years investment experience, predominantly in European investment banks in different multi-jurisdictional European markets, most working together in the past.
Chenavari is 100% owned by partners and employees with no external shareholders. There is alignment of interests with investors from significant investment in funds, deferred compensation and fund structures. Chenavari is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority, the US Commodities Futures Trading Commission and registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The Hong Kong affiliate is authorised by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
