Jewel Kilcher is a singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, actress, author, and poet. She has received four Grammy Award nominations and has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Heralded by the New York Times as one of the best songwriters since Joni Mitchell, Jewel credits her great mentors Bob Dylan, and Neil Young.
Jewel's unique story includes growing up on an Alaskan homestead with no electricity, surviving off the land. Her New York Times best selling memoir "NEVER BROKEN, chronicles her amazing journey from homeless to happy, using hard work, grit and grace to survive, then thrive, under extreme circumstances.
As a young entrepreneur Jewel sang in bars since the age of eight until at nineteen she negotiated one of the most lucrative record deals in history, by betting on herself, turning down a million dollar advance opting for one of the largest back ends ever awarded. From folk, to pop, country, and a new "lullaby" category she helped create, Jewel has topped the charts. To date her book of poetry has sold more copies than any other in history.
Jewel was cast in four movies, the first being a christened role in Ang Lee's civil a war drama Ride With The Devil , as well as the lead role as June Carter Cash in the Lifetime original movie Ring of Fire. Jewel was then chosen to finish Johnny Cash's half written songs for an upcoming project. She is currently starring in a series of movies for the Hallmark Channel.
But her most cherished offerings include the insights in her lyrics and passionate advocacy for the pursuit of excellence. She has founded a new platform called JewelNeverBroken.com where she shares the mindfulness tools she developed to convert pain into resilience, teaming up with mindfulness expert Dr. Judson Brewer. Jewel is looking forward to this second chapter of her life to build a meaningful legacy by using music, story telling, wisdom and comedy to inspire the way we do business and live our daily lives.
