Rick Newman is a columnist for Yahoo Finance in New York City, covering business and economic trends, including the Trump presidency, for the world's largest financial news site. Rick is also a frequent commentator on MSNBC, Fox, ABC, CBS, WNYC and other TV and radio networks. Prior to arriving at Yahoo in 2013, Rick was chief business correspondent for U.S. News & World Report. Before that, he spent 12 years in Washington, where he covered the Pentagon for U.S. News and earned several awards, including the Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting on National Defense. Rick's fourth book, Liberty for All: A Manifesto for Reclaiming Financial and Political Freedom, was published in 2015. He's the author of three other books: Rebounders: How Winners Pivot From Setback To Success (2012), Firefight: Inside the Battle to Save the Pentagon on 9-11 (2008) and Bury Us Upside Down: The Misty Pilots and the Secret Battle for the Ho Chi Minh Trail (2006).
