Gil Simon
Chief Investment Officer, Apex Capital LLC
After nine years in various roles at Apex, Gil Simon was recently promoted to the role of Chief Investment Officer. Gil and his team have successfully managed Apex's TMT portfolio over the past three years prior to which Gil followed technology and media as an equity analyst. Gil began his investment career at MFS Investment Management, a $400 Billion mutual fund company in Boston, covering traditional media and various technology sub-sectors. Prior to his career in investment management, Gil earned his CPA designation and worked for several years in accounting and consulting at KPMG/Bearing Point. Gil earned his MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management and his BA in Economics from UCLA.
Apex Capital is a long-short equity manager based in San Francisco. Apex seeks to differentiate itself by focusing on non-consensus, longer term investment opportunities. The firm was founded in 1995 by Sandy Colen, CEO and Portfolio Manager.
