Clifton S. Robbins
Chief Executive Officer, Blue Harbour Group
Mr. Robbins is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Harbour Group, L.P. The firm's investment strategy is to employ active ownership strategies in the public markets as it serves as a lead minority stockholder in public companies, working in collaboration with company managements and boards to build and unlock shareholder value. Mr. Robbins has more than 30 years of experience in the investment management business. Prior to forming Blue Harbour, Mr. Robbins had been a Managing Member of General Atlantic Partners, LLC, a global private equity firm from 2000 through August 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Robbins had been a General Partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. where he worked from 1987 until 2000. At KKR, he played a significant role in many of the firm's leveraged buyout transactions and financings, which aggregated in excess of $100 billion, and was also intimately involved with many of the firm's capital markets activities. Mr. Robbins began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions department of Morgan Stanley & Co. He graduated with an A.B. from Harvard College and received his M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Robbins has served on the Board of Directors of more than fifteen public and private companies. He is a member of the Boards of Overseers and Managers of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and currently chairs its Funding and Finance Committee. Mr. Robbins also serves on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council and formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Stanford Business School Trust.
Mr. Robbins resides in Greenwich, Connecticut with his wife and three sons.
