Paul Ryan
U.S. Congressman
Congressman Paul Ryan is a fifth-generation native of Janesville, Wisconsin. He represents the state's first congressional district and is currently serving his eighth term in Congress.
Ryan is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and chairman of the House Budget Committee. He has put forward specific plans to pay off the national debt and grow the economy. He recently worked with Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.) to pass the first budget agreement in a divided Congress since 1986.
In 2012, he was the Republican Party's vice-presidential nominee.
A graduate of Joseph A. Craig High School in Janesville, Ryan earned a degree in economics and political science from Miami University in Ohio. Paul and his wife Janna live in Janesville with their three children Liza, Charlie, and Sam.
