CONFERENCE SPEAKERS
Senator Scott Brown
United States Senator, Massachusetts (2010 - 2013)
As a former member of the United States Senate, Scott Brown kept true to his word and represented Massachusetts as an independent voter and thinker. He held firm to his principles of lower taxes and less government spending, and has advocated for strong national security policies to keep our country safe from terrorism.
Brown made job creation his top legislative priority, and worked on a series of bills targeted at boosting specific sectors in the Bay State economy, including the medical device industry, innovative start-up companies, manufacturing, among many others.
Senator Brown believes that is no more important task right now than to address the job killing requirements and restrictions of Obamacare.
In addition, he believes that we need to foster an environment that allows our nation's small businesses to create jobs and put people back to work. This starts by unleashing the ingenuity of our country's innovators and entrepreneurs and setting tax and regulatory policies that make sense.
At a time when bitter partisanship too often leaves Washington D.C. gridlocked, Brown did not hesitate to reach across the aisle and work with members of any political party on common sense policies that were aimed at getting our economy moving.
Above all else, Senator Brown believes that we are Americans first, and the challenges we face as a country right now require more cooperation, putting our country first, over petty partisan politics.
For over 34 years, Senator Brown continues to serve in the Army National Guard. He currently holds the rank of Colonel in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps and works in the Pentagon. In the summer of 2011, Brown completed his annual training requirements for the National Guard in Afghanistan.
Scott is of counsel at Nixon Peabody, LLP and a contracted contributor on FOX National News. He also serves on the Board of Kadant, Inc, and advisor for CoachUp, Inc. and GDSI, Inc. He has travelling around the world speaking to numerous groups and is honored to be here.
A graduate of Wakefield High School, Tufts University, and Boston College Law School, Scott Brown lives in New Hampshire with his wife Gail. They have two daughters: Ayla, who is currently pursuing a country music career in Nashville, and Arianna, who graduated with honors from Syracuse University and will be attending vet school in September.
