Chris Hentemann
Managing Partner, 400 Capital Management LLC
Chris organized and launched 400 Capital Management LLC (“400CM”) in October 2008. Chris is Chief Investment Officer of the 400CM Credit Opportunities Fund LP (“COF”) and Chairs the Firm’s Operating and Investment Committees. Prior to 400CM, Chris was the Head of Global Structured Products (“GSP”) at Banc of America Securities (“BAS”). In that capacity, he was a member of the Global Markets Committee and led the strategy for lending, securitization, trading, sales, research and investment management of residential and commercial mortgage, asset-backed, CDO and CLO, tax and credit derivatives. Chris spent over eleven years at BAS, which included originating and developing many of the current lines of structured finance business including MBS, ABS and CMBS trading, securitization and proprietary principal investing within Structured Products. Chris’ experience included the international expansion within those respective areas in both Europe and Asia. Prior to joining BAS, Chris spent two years as a Vice President at Salomon Brothers Inc. He was a senior market-maker in residential mortgage securities, CMO’s and derivatives. Over that tenure, Chris managed one of the most complex trading positions in fixed income through the mortgage crisis of 1994-5. Chris began his career at CS First Boston where he was responsible for trading and structuring residential mortgage securities, CMO’s and derivatives. His early experience included purchasing, restructuring and re-selling distressed mortgage loan portfolios from the RTC. Chris is an instrument rated multi-engine private pilot with experience flying for Angel Flight NE. Chris graduated from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
