Garth Friesen
Principal & Co-Chief Investment Officer, III & AVM
Garth Friesen is a principal and Co-Chief Investment Officer of III and AVM where he is also a portfolio manager for the III funds. Prior to joining III in 1998, Mr. Friesen worked in London, UK as a trader for Merrill Lynch in their non-dollar swap business from 1994 to 1996 and from 1996 to 1998 he was a director at Union Bank of Switzerland where he worked as a proprietary trader in the fixed-income derivatives group. Mr. Friesen graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario in 1990. He also earned an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada in 1994. Mr. Friesen is currently serving on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets. Mr. Friesen is a Registered General Securities Principal and General Securities Representative with FINRA, a CFTC Approved Principal, and an Associate Member of the NFA.
