Todd Builione
President, Highbridge Capital Management
Todd Builione is President of Highbridge Capital Management and Chief Executive Officer of Highbridge’s Hedge Fund Business. Founded in 1992, Highbridge is a global alternative asset management firm that has evolved from a multi-strategy hedge fund into a diversified investment platform that includes hedge funds, traditional investment management products and credit and equity investments with longer-term holding periods. Highbridge and its affiliates manage approximately $30 billion for many of the world’s most prominent institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, endowments and foundations. The firm is based in New York with offices in Hong Kong, London, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo; along with its affiliates, it employs approximately 465 people, including 140 investment professionals. Mr. Builione is a member of the Highbridge Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Hedge Fund Investment Committee and Hedge Fund Risk Committee.
Prior to joining Highbridge, Mr. Builione was an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs where he focused on capital markets and mergers and acquisitions and also provided financial and strategic advice to executives of financial services companies, predominantly those of investment management businesses. In addition, Mr. Builione analyzed strategic issues facing Goldman Sachs and advised its executive office on acquisition opportunities.
Mr. Builione serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Managed Funds Association, the leading advocate for sound business practices in the hedge fund industry. He is a member of the Harvard Law School Association, a Trustee of Cornell University’s Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and a member of the Cornell University Council. Mr. Builione also serves on the Board of Directors of Harlem RBI, a community-based youth development organization located in East Harlem, New York. Founded in 1991, Harlem RBI’s school-day, after-school and summer programs serve more than 1,000 boys and girls in New York City.
Mr. Builione earned his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his B.S., summa cum laude, fromCornellUniversity, where he was named a Merrill Presidential Scholar. He and his wife, Karen, have three daughters.
