Charles H. Dufresne, Jr. concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions and other transactions in the alternative investment industry. He regularly litigates corporate governance, shareholder activism, and state and federal securities and corporate matters. He also represents numerous public pension plans and other institutional investors in capital allocation transactions, including negotiating and providing comprehensive due diligence of alternative investment managers.
Mr. Dufresne is Chairman of the Advisory Board and member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST), where he serves as a liaison between money managers and other private interests, and State Treasurers and their respective public pension plans. Mr. Dufresne frequently lectures on securities law issues.
Prior to joining Sadis & Goldberg, Mr. Dufresne was a managing director with a Singapore-based private equity and hedge fund management firm. He began his career as a litigator with a highly regarded boutique law firm, where he concentrated in securities litigation and other commercial actions.
