Ian G. DiBernardo assists both emerging and established companies in generating revenue and gaining a competitive advantage from their technologies. He counsels clients on all aspects of intellectual property and Internet law, focusing on complex intellectual property and technology transactions and intellectual property litigation.
Mr. DiBernardo has extensive experience in structuring, preparing and negotiating intellectual property and technology agreements, including development, professional services, outsourcing, license, distribution and joint venture agreements.
On behalf of Stroock’s financial services and capital markets clients, he frequently negotiates market access and dark pool agreements, licenses to financial indexes, market data, trading technologies, risk management software and back office systems. In addition, he negotiates and conducts due diligence on the intellectual property and information technology aspects of a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and securities and corporate finance transactions.
Although Mr. DiBernardo has experience with a wide range of technologies, he has significant experience with financial products and systems, consumer electronics, Internet technologies and medical devices and systems.
As a litigator, Mr. DiBernardo has trial and appellate litigation experience in patent, trade dress, trade secret and copyright matters, successfully arguing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
