Nurzhan Tursunkhanov
Deputy CEO, National Investment Corporation of National Bank of Kazakhstan
Mr. Tursunkhanov was at the origins of establishment of the NIC NBK in October 2012 in a form of subsidiary of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. Prior to joining NIC NBK Mr. Tursunkhanov has served for 8 years at the National (Central) Bank of Kazakhstan. As a Deputy Head of the Reserve Management Division Mr. Tursunkhanov was responsible for managing Central Bank's Gold and Foreign exchange Reserves as well as Oil Fund assets which in total reached $85 billion in 2012 and were diversified into more than 10 currencies. Between 2003-2004 he started his career as an FX&MM trader at HSBC Bank's branch in Kazakhstan. Mr. Tursunkhanov received a BSC in Economics from Nottingham University in the UK.
