Russell Julius
Head of Global Banking, Asia-Pacific, GBM
Russell Julius was appointed Head of Banking, Asia Pacific, GBM in May 2010.
Mr. Julius leads a team of some 1,250 market professionals working in 18 countries and territories across Asia-Pacific. He is responsible for the management of the Bank's Banking business which comprises all HSBC products and services for large corporates across the region with the exception of treasury services. As such, Banking provides a full range of corporate and investment banking products, including project and export finance.
Mr. Julius joined HSBC as the Chairman of ECM in May 2002. Prior to coming to HSBC, he was the Global Head of ECM at ING from 1999 - 2002, having first joined the London bank Baring Brothers & Co in London in 1988. During 1990 - 1999, he was resident in Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong in a variety of capital market roles, returning to the UK in 1999.
Russell was educated at the University of Oxford, England and Haifa, Israel.
