Eric Yik-Cheung Chow
Senior Fund Manager, Value Partners Group
Mr. Eric Y.C. Chow is the sole portfolio manager of the Value Partners Hedge Fund, the only fund selected as one of the Top 5 "Best Greater China Hedge Fund" for 2 consecutive years at the Eurekahedge Asian Hedge Fund Awards 2010 and 2011.
Mr. Chow has over 12 years of investment experiences. He joined Value Partners in 2002 and started managing the Value Partners Hedge Fund since April 2007. He has held a key leadership role in investment process of the Hedge Fund, including long and short idea generation, investment research, due diligence, strategy formation, and portfolio management. In addition to bottom-up stock picking and top-down exposure management, he adds differentiated value by developing multi-strategies (including event-driven, arbitrage, and derivative) and coaching analysts. He also advises various corporations on corporate strategy, talent development and capital management.
In January 2011, the Thomson Reuters Extel Asia Pacific Survey ranked Mr. Chow as one of the top three "Leading Buyside Individuals" in Asia for the second consecutive year.
Mr. Chow is the youngest member of the Listing Committee at The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Principal duties of the Listing Committee include approving new initial public offerings (IPOs) on the mainboard of Hong Kong, advising on listing matters and improving listing rules of Hong Kong, delisting failed firms, and imposing disciplinary actions against directors of listed companies for breaching rules.
Prior to joining Value Partners, he worked for the Australian Bureau of Statistics in Sydney, Australia. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics with double majors in economics and finance from the University of Sydney.
