United Nations Foundation
The United Nations Foundation was created in 1998 with entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner’s historic $1 billion gift to support United Nations causes and activities to foster a more peaceful, prosperous and just world. As a public charity, the UN Foundation advocates for the UN and builds partnerships and platforms to connect people, ideas, and resources to help the UN solve global problems. Through these partnerships and platforms, the UN Foundation links the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy and expertise of business and non-governmental organizations to help the UN tackle issues including climate change, global health, peace and security, women's empowerment, poverty eradication, energy access, and U.S.-UN relations.
