Edward Sungshik Moon

Chief Investment Officer & Co-Founder, Woori Absolute Partners

 

Edward Sungshik Moon serves as Chief Investment Officer of Woori Absolute Partners, which he co-founded in 2008. Woori Absolute Partners, a wholly owned subsidiary of Woori Investment & Securities Co. Ltd., is based in Singapore and serves as Woori’s alternative investment management platform. Under Mr. Moon’s direction, Woori Absolute Partners was named the Best Manager of Funds of Hedge Funds by AsianInvestor for its Annual Korean Awards 2012.

 

Prior to Woori, Mr. Moon served as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Private Equity Investments at the private equity firm, EDGE Holdings Co., Ltd. He also previously served as a Vice President and Head of Korean Equity Capital Markets at Citigroup / Salomon Smith Barney and was a co-founding member of Credit Suisse First Boston’s representative office in Korea.

 

Mr. Moon has attained extensive financial industry knowledge in his capacity as a member of both the advisory / sell-side (investment banking / capital markets) and asset and portfolio management / buy-side (private equity / hedge fund / alternative investment) communities.

 

Mr. Moon holds an MBA from INSEAD and an AB with Honors from Brown University.
